More details from the related email:

The San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital regularly assists San Francisco residents who are experiencing medical emergencies with their pets. The diagnosis and treatment of canine parvovirus is a common urgent care case.  Parvovirus is a very serious canine disease that makes the individual animal very ill.  The virus is highly contagious (poses a canine public health concern) and is very costly to treat.  The good news is that this disease is very preventable! The DHP (Distemper Hepatitis Parvovirus) vaccine, if properly administered, immunizes the individual canine patient against parvovirus, and, in most cases, is highly effective in preventing infection.  We’ve collected and examined data, and observed that the majority of parvovirus care cases that we see are generated in the 94124 zip code (Bayview / Hunters Point). The goal of our mobile vaccine clinic is to provide accessible preventive care services for this specific canine population and their human owners.
